The painting "Christ Savior" was painted in the 1560s. X-ray analysis has revealed that Christ's head was originally larger in size. Titian made it smaller, encircling it with a halo that fitted into the original contour. He also changed the position of the fingers of the blessing hand, a fact evident to the naked eye. T. Fomichova notes that the Pantocrator of the Hermitage painting is in perfect agreement with Titian's approach to the image of Christ, beginning with the Tribute Money.
