TOPofART wants to remind you to keep patient, in order to get you the highest quality, being our mission to fulfill your expectations.

We not stretch and frame our oil paintings due to several reasons:

Also, there are postal restrictions, regarding the size of the shipment.
Additionally, due to the dimensions of the stretched canvas, the shipment price may exceed the price of the product itself.

You can stretch and frame your painting in your local frame-shop.

Once the painting Interior. Young Woman seen from Behind is ready and dry, it will be shipped to your delivery address. The canvas will be rolled-up in a secure postal tube.

Over 20 Years Experience
Only Museum Quality

The paintings we create are only of museum quality. Our academy graduated artists will never allow a compromise in the quality and detail of the ordered painting. TOPofART do not work, and will never allow ourselves to work with low quality studios from the Far East. We are based in Europe, and quality is our highest priority.

Vilhelm Hammershøi’s “Interior. Young Woman seen from Behind” is a painting drenched in silence - a quiet, almost meditative scene. The woman stands with her back to the viewer, a figure of graceful restraint, framed by the spare elegance of the room. She wears a simple black dress, her head slightly bowed, as if caught in a moment of contemplation. Her presence is softened by the gentle, diffused light that bathes the room, slipping in from an unseen window, illuminating the nape of her neck and casting a pale glow across the muted grey walls. Hammershøi’s brushwork captures the light’s delicacy, its quiet insistence on revealing what would otherwise remain in shadow.

The room is an exercise in restraint, defined by its cool, almost monochromatic tones. Greys dominate, softened by subtle hints of blue and brown. Against the wall sits a wooden cabinet, its warm, earthy tones standing out as one of the few departures from the painting’s otherwise muted palette. Upon it rests a porcelain tureen, painted with delicate patterns, its curves and softness contrasting with the strict linearity of the room. This lone object, along with the woman’s form, breaks the symmetry of the space, adding a touch of organic softness to an otherwise rigid composition.

Hammershøi’s technique is precise and controlled, his brushstrokes so finely applied that the painting seems almost to breathe with stillness. Every element is carefully placed - the framed picture on the wall, the simple molding that frames the space - all meticulously arranged to emphasize the woman’s quiet solitude. The play of light and shadow is masterful, capturing the faint glow of daylight as it settles upon the walls, illuminating dust motes that seem to hang suspended in the stillness. It’s as if time has slowed, allowing us to witness an intimate, fleeting moment suspended in this hushed interior.

In “Interior. Young Woman seen from Behind,” Hammershøi crafts not just a scene, but a mood - one of introspection and calm, where every detail, from the subdued colors to the careful composition, contributes to a sense of quiet reverie. It’s a portrait not of the woman herself, but of an atmosphere, an interior world shaped by the delicate balance of light, space, and silence. This is Hammershøi at his finest, capturing the essence of a room with all the grace and precision of a poet - a painter of quiet rooms, indeed, and of the haunting beauty that lies within them.

I just received the canvas copy of a Danish painter and it was actually lovelier than I expected. I immediately hung it on my wall and could not be more pleased. In addition, the communication and customer service with "Top of Art" is exceptional. Thank you to Michael for his wonderful communication.
