TOPofART wants to remind you to keep patient, in order to get you the highest quality, being our mission to fulfill your expectations.

We not stretch and frame our oil paintings due to several reasons:
Painting reproduction is a high quality expensive product, which we cannot risk to damage by sending it being stretched.
Also, there are postal restrictions, regarding the size of the shipment.
Additionally, due to the dimensions of the stretched canvas, the shipment price may exceed the price of the product itself.

You can stretch and frame your painting in your local frame-shop.

Once the painting Window in the Studio is ready and dry, it will be shipped to your delivery address. The canvas will be rolled-up in a secure postal tube.

Over 20 Years Experience
Only Museum Quality

The paintings we create are only of museum quality. Our academy graduated artists will never allow a compromise in the quality and detail of the ordered painting. TOPofART do not work, and will never allow ourselves to work with low quality studios from the Far East. We are based in Europe, and quality is our highest priority.

Vincent van Gogh’s “Window in the Studio,” painted during his stay at the asylum in Saint-Rémy, is a quiet moment captured with extraordinary attentiveness. In this intimate scene, Van Gogh transforms the simple window into a world of texture, light, and shadow - all with his distinctive eye for color and line. The window itself, with its sturdy bars and thick, wooden frame, occupies the central space, pulling the viewer’s gaze outward to the garden beyond. The window bars, painted with visible lines of black chalk, serve as a reminder of the confines Van Gogh faced, yet they also offer a striking contrast against the soft pastel tones of the garden foliage beyond.

The colors are warm and earthy - ochres, soft greens, and the pale blue of the sky - creating a sense of calm that is almost meditative. The golden-yellow walls around the window glow with warmth, enveloping the entire composition in a serene hue. His application of paint varies, with thick, sweeping brushstrokes on the wall, layered over with delicate, controlled lines for the bottles on the sill. The objects - bottles, pots, and what appears to be a humble cup - rest on the windowsill, casting gentle shadows, each stroke hinting at the sunlight filtering in from outside.

Van Gogh’s technique here is fluid yet restrained. He begins with black chalk, sketching out the structure, and then adds thinned oil paint and watercolors, allowing parts of the bare paper to peek through between strokes. This deliberate exposure of the paper adds a unique depth to the image, giving the illusion of light dancing on the glass and filtering through the bars. Above the window, we see a hint of the blue sky, framed by the arched shape of the window, inviting a glimpse of freedom in a confined space.

On the surrounding walls, Van Gogh’s own paintings are visible - modestly hung, subtly detailed - as though they, too, are a quiet part of this private world. It’s an introspective piece, a moment of solitude, rendered with Van Gogh’s characteristic intensity and sensitivity to the world around him. This window is more than just an opening to the outside; it is a testament to Van Gogh's resilient spirit, capturing beauty within the confines of his reality.
